However, since OSX Lion, Apple claim the MPEG-2 playback component is no longer needed by OSX (I believe it's now directly supported by Quicktime). MPEG StreamClip needs Apples MPEG-2 playback component. Since my needs are modest and occasional, apps like Premiere, etc. I would much prefer to continue to use Streamclip but i will consider another alternative. The save process was very quick and resulted in a file size of zero bytes.
